Terms of Use

The rules for using this website, and the limits of what the pages on it promise.

Effective 26 October 2026Last updated 26 October 2026

Agreeing to these terms

By using arkec.org you agree to what is on this page. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the site.

These terms are between you and The ARK Entrepreneurial, a nonprofit organization in Chicago, Tax ID 42-3240734, at 2538 S. Blue Island, Chicago, IL 60608.

What this website is for

It describes who we are and what we do, and it gives you ways to reach us: to ask a question, to volunteer, to partner with us, to hire a young person through one of our programs, or to give.

Program information is not an offer of a place

We publish ages, schedules, locations and program descriptions so that families know what we run. Publishing them is not an offer and does not reserve a place.

Programs fill up. Schedules move. What we can run in a given year depends on funding, on staff and on space, and any of those can change after a page is written. We will keep the site as accurate as we can, and we would rather you call us at 773-893-5966 than rely on a page for something that matters.

Enrollment is completed through Procare, not here. What you agree to when you enroll is set out there, and those terms govern your place in the program, not this page.

Donations

Donations are processed by Givebutter, under Givebutter's own terms. We do not handle or store your payment card details.

The ARK Entrepreneurial is a nonprofit organization, Tax ID 42-3240734. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Givebutter sends your receipt.

If you give by mistake, write to info@arkec.org and tell us what happened. We will refund a genuine error, such as a wrong amount or a duplicate gift, as long as you tell us reasonably promptly. We would rather return money given in error than keep it.

Gifts made to a particular appeal are used for that purpose. Where an appeal is met or cannot proceed, we will use the gift for the purpose closest to the one you chose.

What is ours

The content of this site belongs to The ARK Entrepreneurial: the writing, the photographs, the logo, the name, and the four pathway characters, which are artwork commissioned for us.

You are welcome to:

  • link to any page here;
  • quote us, with attribution, for news, research or education;
  • share our posts and our pages.

Please do not, without asking us first:

  • use our logo, our name or our characters to suggest we endorse or are part of something;
  • redraw, recolor or alter the logo or the characters;
  • use our photographs of young people for anything at all. Those children and their families gave permission for us to publish them, not for anybody else to reuse them.

Partners and schools who need our artwork for a shared project should write to info@arkec.org and we will send the right files along with the rules for using them. We are usually glad to say yes.

Using the site properly

Please do not:

  • use the forms to send anything unlawful, abusive or deliberately false;
  • submit forms automatically, or at a volume intended to overwhelm them;
  • try to gain access to any part of the site or its systems you are not meant to reach;
  • copy the site wholesale, scrape it at scale, or use it to train a system without asking us.

Other people's services

We link to Procare, Givebutter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and other organizations we work with. We do not run those services, we are not responsible for them, and following a link means you are on their website under their rules.

No warranty

We publish this site in good faith and we work to keep it accurate. We cannot promise it is free of errors, always available, or suitable for any particular purpose, and we provide it as it is.

Nothing here is legal, financial, educational or medical advice.

Limit of our responsibility

To the fullest extent the law allows, The ARK Entrepreneurial and its staff, board and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of this website.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and any dispute about them belongs in the state or federal courts in Cook County, Illinois.

We have deliberately not required arbitration and we have not asked you to give up the right to bring a claim. We would rather you talk to us. Write to info@arkec.org and we will try to put it right before anybody needs a lawyer.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page says when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new version.

Español

These terms are published in Spanish as well. We have done our best to make the two say the same thing, but the English version is the authoritative one if they ever differ.
